Welcome to the Tero September eZine
OMG, LOL, Best regards, Ciao, Cheers, Sincerely, Dear __________.
The communication on email is ripe for misinterpretation both of meaning and our character. How do we manage a communication vehicle used in so many different contexts appropriately at work? Are we at risk of missing something and offending the person we are trying to connect with?
This month's eZine takes a look at communication via email. The Q and A features five questions. There are so many unknowns about appropriate use of email, we infused this Q and A with five important considerations. The development activity asks us to contemplate what words we are using in emails and how the choice may be appealing (or not) to the recipient of our message. It informs us of the power of choice in wording.
At Tero we are always pleased to receive an article by our research consultant Dr. Harwant Khush. We were especially pleased with this latest article published in this edition. The subject is timely, important, and asks each of us to be better stewards of our online communication.
On a personal note, we are always honored to host Harwant (who lives in Davis, California) in our office each year in October on the week of the World Food Prize in Des Moines. She is an integral part of the event each year accompanying her husband, Dr. Gurdev Singh Khush, a past laureate of the World Food prize.
Email is fast, it's efficient and it keeps us connected. It's fast, it's efficient and it also has the opportunity to disconnect us, or how people regard us. Take a moment to consider with us the implications of email gone wrong and the adulation possible if we align our email and our image in all our online communications.
