Kevin Krause
Kevin Krause is a Training Consultant for Tero International. Kevin joined the Tero Team in 2011 and brings a passion for helping develop leadership skills for rising executives. He also teaches graduate business classes through the University of Iowa.
Kevin attended the University of Iowa where he graduated with honors with a BS in Finance in 1982. He was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and was twice elected Treasurer. Upon graduation, he attended the University of Iowa College of Law where he received his Jurist Doctorate in 1985. Kevin then joined the Gilchrist Law Firm and was elected Franklin County Attorney in 1986.
Turning his love of sports into a career, Kevin became Owner and General Manager of the Continental Basketball Association Franchise, the Cedar Rapids Silver Bullets in 1988. Working with Coors Light, Kevin successfully negotiated the first team name sponsorship in professional sports. During the unique 3-year sponsorship, Coors Light sales in Iowa reached an all-time high which was not to be exceeded for the next 20 years. At the end of his tenure with the team, Kevin assisted the relocation of the franchise to Washington State, where the team was renamed the Tri-City Chinook. Kevin was integral in landing the Chinook Indian tribe's support for the name.
In 1992, Kevin became Marketing Director of Liberty Bancshares, an Iowa holding company for nine Iowa banks. Under Kevin's supervision, Liberty Bank won an Iowa Banking Association Marketing Award for best campaign. In 1993, Kevin was promoted to president of Liberty's largest bank in Mason City, Iowa. Mason City was either first or second in company performance each of his five years there.
In 1997, Kevin put a group together to purchase the Quad City River Bandits minor league baseball team. The River Bandits are a Class A minor league team and a member of the Midwest League. Under Kevin's leadership, a new award-winning stadium was built in Davenport.
In 2007, Kevin joined his family's business Kum & Go Convenience Stores. During the time he served as Senior Vice President of Marketing, Kum & Go accomplished their four most financially successful years in the company's fifty year history. Kum & Go was bestowed with an Addy Award for the Summer Campaign in 2008. Kevin was a store manager for Kum & Go at age 16 and District Supervisor at age 22.
