Dr. Heather Stephenson joined the Tero team in 2023, bringing more than 10 years' experience in organizational leadership, performance management, and higher education. Heather’s professional experience comes from a diverse cross section of working in government agencies, non-profit groups, and educational institutions.
Heather holds a Doctorate of Education in Education Leadership from Maryville University, a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Iowa State University, a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Iowa State University and carries a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from the University of South Florida Muma College of Business. In addition to her work at Tero, Heather is an Adjunct Instructor at Des Moines Area Community College.
Heather has been an active volunteer and board member with nonprofits and civic organizations across the Des Moines Metro Area. Heather was appointed by Governor Branstad to the Iowa Interstate Commission on Educational Opportunity for Military Children. Currently, Heather is a Library Board of Trustee for the City of Ankeny and Director of Fundraising for the Ankeny Wrestling Club.
Heather is a supporter of lifelong learning and continual personal development.
