Protocol Tips for Business Travel to Moscow

Professional Polish Tip from Deborah Rinner

Chris is visiting Moscow on business and asks for some general protocol tips.

First, do not greet someone you've just met with "How are you?" That is reserved for friends. A simple "hello" is appropriate.

Second, do not sit on anything other than a chair.

Third, do not blow your nose or spit in public or show the bottom of your shoes when crossing your legs.

And fourth, plan to spend all evening at dinner. And be prepared to toast throughout the evening. Do not drink before the host offers the first toast.
