It has long been noted that in the post-modern economy, time has surpassed money in its value as a commodity. Unlike money, each of us has only a fixed amount of time to work with. So why is it that some people seem to accomplish so much more in the same amount of time? How do we structure our time so that we feel good about our contributions to both work and home lives? Tero addresses these and other issues in the Time Management workshop. The Time Management workshop involves two full days of training and covers the following topics.
Tero's approach to time management is one founded on the conviction that not everyone approaches time in the same way. We, therefore, do not attempt to squish everyone into the same time management mold. Rather, Tero's approach is to help participants view their time as a precious resource and help them prioritize their time according to their goals - both personal and professional.
Some people accomplish so much more in a day than others do. It's as if these high achievers had twice as much time at their disposal. During this workshop, participants will discover their own individual time management style and begin learning how to increase their productivity.
Much of what we do in life we do by habit. Habits can be wonderful things. They allow us to do several things at the same time. Or, when things change in our lives and careers, habits can become stumbling blocks to achieving our goals.
Like habits, beliefs are hard to change because we have repeated our beliefs for many, many years. Many people say we are born with our beliefs. This is simply not true. Our beliefs come to us as part of our life-long conditioning process. Insights into our core beliefs can help us understand why we feel the way we do about certain situations and how we can control our behaviors.
We are willing to put time, effort and resources into the areas that we feel are important to us. These areas can change over time as our values change. Our values drive the choices we make and all of our behaviors. An understanding of our values is what guides our behavior and forms the code by which we live and work - also known as ethics. If you have a code (internal) then you don't need rules (external).
During their training, participants explore their habits, beliefs and values and the impact they have on their productivity and success.
Why don't we approach every day of our life with the same enthusiasm and spirit of adventure we devote to planning vacations? Just as you would never leave for a vacation destination without a plan, participants learn how to make a plan for their days, weeks, months and career where the focus is on managing time and goals and not just drifting through days feeling empty, depressed or frustrated.
The world is full of people who are very quick to dream and very slow to act. Often, it is because they have failed to take the steps necessary to achieving their goals. A characteristic that all successful, high performance people possess is that they are end-results oriented. They have a strong vision and a positive expectancy for their future. During this session, participants discover how to increase their productivity, overcome procrastination, reduce stress and set realistic goals using a goal setting system.
Our goal should never be getting as much as possible done. There is more to carefully investing our time than just cramming more into each day. Our focus should be on getting the most important things done.
During the workshop, participants look at a system for assigning priorities to the many tasks and activities in their days and identifying the "real" priorities when everything is urgent. Participants will also discover that on the road to personal effectiveness they will encounter many obstacles or barriers to their success and will discover the many tools available to them to overcome break these barriers.
Stress related illness costs businesses $300 billion a year in medical costs and lost productivity. Workers now log one extra month of time on the job each year compared with workers just two decades ago. Each of us functions best within a certain range of stress: our personal comfort zone. Awareness of the signs that indicate whether we are in or out of that zone is a valuable tool in time and life management. During the workshop, participants look at how stress affects performance and discover techniques for stress recovery, remaining calm under pressure and feeling energized.
During this program, with the help of a series of self-assessment tools, you'll not only discover how to set and achieve your most ambitious goals, you'll learn how to do it within your own comfort zone by using your own personal style to your advantage.
