Technical Professional

Professional coaching is most appropriate for top performers preparing for their next role in the organization, high performers facing new challenges at work or individuals who are technically skilled but lack the interpersonal skills that are essential for professional success.

We understand that the skills that led to our top performance in one role are not the same skills that are needed in a new role or when we are facing a new challenge at work. Professional athletes engage a coach to help prepare them for the next challenge. Professionals in business are wise to do the same.

Why Tero Professional Coaching?

  • You want to maximize your performance
  • You are preparing to take on a new role that requires a new level of leadership or interpersonal skills
  • You want to intentionally and purposefully prepare yourself for a promotion
  • You want to improve your self-confidence
  • You need to build or rebuild trust on a team
  • You are struggling to delegate and “let go” of tasks you’ve done in the past
  • You wonder how to motivate team members
  • You want to acquire leadership skills in a safe learning environment rather than practice on-the-job and make expensive mistakes
  • You want to create a learning culture on your team where people grow and contribute their individual best
  • You hope to build more productive relationships with people of different backgrounds

Nature Of Coaching Relationship

Due to its highly personalized and individualized approach, all coaching is goal focused and designed around the unique needs of the Client.

A complimentary, preliminary meeting is held to discuss the coaching relationship, introduce the parties and ensure commitment to the process.

If the Client decides to proceed with the coaching, a contract is executed to formalize the confidential nature of the relationship and to set out the framework for the coaching.

What is involved in a Tero Professional Coaching Relationship?

There are three components:

1. Needs Assessment/Gap Analysis meeting. This meeting is attended by the Coaching Candidate and the individual’s manager. A Tero Head Coach facilitates a Needs Assessment which leads to the development of a recommended plan. This meeting is complimentary.

2. If the plan is approved, the coaching relationship commences. It involves a combination of one-on-one private coaching sessions (in-person or virtual), formal training and assessment inventories.

3. The coaching concludes with a final meeting between the Tero Head Coach, Coaching Candidate and the individual’s manager to debrief the experience, evaluate progress against learning objectives and determine next steps.

More on Tero Professional Coaching

For everyone who has wrestled with how to deliver bad news to an employee, handle an emotional conflict, motivate a team, calm their own anger, inspire others toward a vision or persuade an audience to a course of action, it is vividly clear on a deep personal level how hard the soft interpersonal skills can be to master.

Where new discoveries and changes in nearly every profession necessitate the constant learning and re-learning of technical knowledge, most people agree on the enduring value of the intangible soft skills. Because of their complex and abstract nature, the development of personal and interpersonal skills is largely overlooked.

Helping people make tangible, define, develop and effectively use the soft skills that provide enduring value is Tero’s mission.

Tero is in the business of helping people develop and use skills that will enhance their professional lives. Since 1993, Tero has dedicated itself to understanding the abstract personal and interpersonal skills necessary for success in the workplace.

According to research conducted by Harvard University, Carnegie Foundation, and Stanford Research Institute, 85 percent of job success is based on people skills.

Tero's Professional Coaching Programs are designed to provide a customized development experience for an individual.

Coaching clients work together with their Tero coach to set goals and develop essential skills and knowledge for success.
